Now Hiring: Coordinator for Young Adult Division (Part Time)

Charleston Jewish Federation is committed to investing and engaging the upcoming generation in Charleston Jewish life and the work of CJF, thereby setting the course for a vibrant Jewish future for the Charleston community.

The YAD Coordinator position is a unique leadership development and career-building opportunity, available to young Jewish professionals residing in the Charleston area, designed to recruit, engage, and enhance the Jewish experience of members of CJF’s Young Adult Division (YAD). A monthly stipend is provided to the Coordinator as compensation, along with a programming budget.

Description of YAD:

The Young Adult Division (YAD) of the Charleston Jewish Federation is geared towards the 21 - 35 years old crowd. YAD offers young Jewish singles, couples, families and new area residents a broad range of social, educational and volunteer opportunities.

YAD events provide an opportunity for members to expand their social or professional network with other young Jews in the Charleston area and encourage participation in the Charleston Jewish community. Since YAD's primary focus is social and educational, fundraising is not a goal of the group. In addition, there is no membership fee.

YAD welcomes those who would like to connect with the Jewish community and encourages participation of interfaith families, couples and significant others in all its activities.

 

YAD Coordinator Responsibilities:

The YAD Coordinator will strive to understand YAD members’ interests, passions and aspirations with the aim of connecting them to Charleston Jewish Federation and the greater Charleston Jewish community. The YAD Coordinator reports to the Director of Strategic Initiatives. Responsibilities include:

 

  • Building relationships, through individual meetings, with potential members of YAD, connecting them to YAD and community programming, and reporting back important information to CJF.

  • Coordinating ongoing meet-ups for YAD, including two large events per year.

  • Attending all YAD programming, including meetings related to YAD.

  • Recruiting for, attending and facilitating small groups of YAD members as necessary to plan programming and events.

  • Tracking information on YAD members; demographic information and attendance at events.

  • Assisting the CJF Director of Strategic Initiatives in social media, marketing and communications targeting the YAD members.

  • Serving as a liaison and resource for YAD members.
