Coalition Letter Regarding Never Again Education Act Submitted to Congress

Thank you all for your support of the Never Again Education Act (H.R. 5460). The final letter was sent this morning to House Education & Workforce Committee Leadership and full House Leadership with signatures from over 75 major national organizations, local federations and human service agencies, faith-based institutions, education centers and museums. Together, we sent a strong message to Congress today. See a copy of the letter here.

Background: Jewish Federations recognize that Holocaust education is critically important. Introduced by Reps. Carolyn Maloney (D-NY) and Daniel Donovan (R-NY), the Never Again Education Act (H.R. 5460) is a bipartisan bill that uses private donations to provide teachers with the resources and training they need to teach children the important lessons of the Holocaust and the consequences of bigotry and hate.

This bill would help teachers overcome common hurdles to Holocaust education, including lack of resources and lack of funding. It would require the creation of a Holocaust education website and would connect curriculum experts at the Department of Education with Holocaust educators to develop programs tailored to the individual needs of teachers and communities.

CJF's REMEMBER Program for Holocaust Education and Genocide Awareness educates the next generation through a speakers bureau, teacher trainings, testimonials from survivors and their children, specific school projects (Daffodil Project, Arts and Literature Competition, curriculum consultation, etc.). We welcome your support through your involvement or a tax-deductible donation.
