Did you know that there are more than 70 campers from the Charleston area attending Jewish overnight camp this summer? As the numbers increase, so do the needs, and Charleston Jewish Federation is working with the entire community to answer the call.
This summer, CJF is making overnight camp a reality for 20 campers. This is a 700% increase from last year, made possible through our partnership with Foundation for Jewish Camp's One Happy Camper Program, established in January 2017. The other 15 campers are receiving scholarships from Charleston Jewish Family Services, The Pearlstine Family Fund and a CJF Community Campaign Allocation to Hadassah for camp scholarships to Camp Judaea.
We also want to recognize the scholarships that our synagogues make available for overnight Jewish camp and thank them for their commitment and collaborations. PJ Library and our local camps also provide One Happy Camper opportunities. Together we are doing extraordinary things!
