We are thrilled to announce Anita Zucker's $1 million gift to the Center for Advancing Holocaust Survivor Care, a new Jewish Federations of North America initiative that expands person-centered, trauma-informed (PCTI) supportive services for Holocaust survivors across the U.S.
Tikkun olam, to repair the world, is at the core of everything that Anita does in her life, both professionally and philanthropically. This is a value she learned from her parents and her husband Jerry's (OBM) parents, all survivors of the Holocaust.
"Teaching has always been my passion, and my parents and in-laws are the best teachers I've ever had," Anita says. "One look at the world today proves the danger of forgetting the lessons of the Holocaust. My hope in making this gift is to ensure a long, good life for as many survivors as I can. It is another way of making sure as many people - especially young people - as possible have the opportunity to learn from the lives of these absolutely incredible individuals."
