(HaPanterim HaShhorim Midabrim) (2003, 54min) Courageous and witty, the film explores a turning point in Israeli history: the revolt of the Israeli Black Panthers in the early 70s. The Black Panthers were an Israeli protest movement of second-generation Jewish immigrants from Middle Eastern countries. They were one of the first organizations in Israel with the mission of working for social justice for Mizrahi Jews. The film initiates a long suppressed debate about the bias of Israeli home politics, and also reveals a new perspective in Europe on the future of the Israeli state within an Arab Middle East.
