We are here to act. We are here to advocate. And we are here to remember. – Sophie Levenson, Porter Gaud
What is the Remember Project? The Charleston Jewish Federation heard loud and clear from local school district leadership that the best way to bring resources to schools is to inspire and motivate students to do so. In response, the Remember Project was formed in 2019.
Participants come from many different backgrounds and represent a wide variety of schools in the tri-county area. Throughout the experience teens meet with survivors and their descendants, participate in anti-bias trainings through the Anti-Defamation League, and learn about international resources such as the Daffodil Project, Centropa, and the Anne Frank Partnership. Most of all, they form bonds with likeminded, similar aged individuals.
We're currently accepting applications for the 2022-2023 Remember Project Cohort. If you're interested, please contact remember@jewishcharleston.org for more information.
