As part of the Jewish Communal Response to Hunger, the Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Charleston collaborates with Lowcountry Food Bank, grassroots neighborhood organizations, and our local synagogues to bring fresh, healthy food where it's needed the most. We've zeroed in on Lowcountry "Food Deserts," or areas without easy access to fresh food.
On Thursday, November 17th, we are partnering with Concerned Citizens of Peninsula and the Lowcountry, a neighborhood group, to distribute over 3 tons of fresh produce, and whatever non-perishables we can procure from the Lowcountry Food Bank.
Volunteers will help pre-bag groceries for walk-up and drive-up clients, assist clients, break down boxes, and be of general assistance to the neighborhood group we partner with. Thank you for being so generous with your time and resources.
Sign up here to volunteer.
