M’dor l’dor, for thousands of years Jews have imparted unto succeeding generations the practices and ethical values that framed their lives. Now called an “ethical will,” this tradition stems from the Torah, as Jacob, on his deathbed gathered his twelve sons to offer them his blessings, moral directives, and burial instructions. So too does Moses instruct the Israelites to be a holy people and teach their children ethical principles. Rabbi Carla Howard will personalize this tradition of legacy creation in her discussion of ethical wills: how does one begin the process of creating an ethical will, and how can modern technology assist us in its development and implementation? Rabbi Carla Howard is the Founder, Executive Director, and CEO of the Jewish Healing Center of Los Angeles.
