Gleaning at Rosebank Farms

10:00AM - 12:00PM

Gleaning: Fresh air. Get involved. Make a difference.

All are invited to join us for our volunteer event. Together we will feed the hungry and practice tikkun olam - a very important Jewish value of repairing the world.

Sunday, June 11th | 10:00 am - 12:00pm
At Rosebank Farms
3951 Betsy Kerrison Pkwy, Johns Island, SC

RSVPs are mandatory. The field for gleaning can be miles from the meet up location and we don't want to depart without you! Please send your contact information by Thursday, March 3rd, to Marsha Gewirtzman at msgewirtzman@gmail.com

This event is appropriate for ages 7+. Please bring gloves if you have them, and we reccomend wearing long pants.

Gleaning has its roots in Biblical times when the corners of farmers' fields were left unharvested and overlooked or forgotten crops were 'gleaned' as sustenance for the poor, the hungry, the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow. This early form of welfare is now a humanitarian act of the modern world.
