Want to learn how to learn?
This class aims to impart the foundational tools of learning to both beginners and scholars alike. No prior Talmudic experience is required however knowledge of the Hebrew alphabet is a prerequisite. Attendees will learn the mechanics and fundamentals of Talmudic study line by line, word by word, so that the beauty, joy and profundity of learning can be accessed and revisited any time on their own. We plan to also study various commentaries of the Talmud, as well as halachic works including the Rambam (Maimonides), Shulchan Aruch and the Mishna Berurah (Code of Jewish Law and commentaries). Around the time of each of the holidays we will be looking into the sources that guide the experience of each of the holidays as well.
