Dr. Norman Pereira will focus on the three most important political figures spanning the period 1917-2015 in Russian history. During all three eras Jews played prominent roles in virtually every aspect of social life. Despite official and popular anti-Semitism, the contribution of Jews to Russian culture and civilization has been and continues to be vastly disproportionate to their numbers in the general population. This seminar series attempts to provide context for their impact and roles.
