Each year, local city and county councils issue Proclamations that commemorate the Holocaust and honor Holocaust victims. In very moving ceremonies during their scheduled council meetings, a member of the Council reads a Proclamation.
In Summerville, the reading of the Proclamation will be followed by a silent march to the Saul Alexander Garden where there will be a candle lighting ceremony.
It is crucial for members of the Jewish community to support these proclamations by attending the council meetings at which the proclamation is read.
The REMEMBER Program urges to show your support of Holocaust remembrance in the community.
