Addlestone Hebrew Academy's Early Childhood Education program is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).  We believe that the early years are the time to build the educational foundation that will support a lifetime of learning.  The Early Childhood program provides rich and varied experiences with caring and well-trained educators.  Our emphasis is on individual attention.  Teachers work as teams to create a safe and effective learning environment in which children can grow and develop at their own pace.

Our early childhood program focuses on children's development in four areas: social, emotional, motor, and cognitive.  Research confirms that young children learn most effectively through a concrete play-oriented approach.  Teachers select from many toys and educational materials such as paints, clay, manipulatives, music, books, puzzles, and more, to prepare each unit of study, plan the learning centers and watch for individual preferences among their children.  At all levels, a healthy balance is maintained amongst free choice time, structured time, and large and small group activities.  The curriculum also includes daily outdoor play involving running, jumping, climbing, pumping, and pedaling.

Our program is further enhanced by our Judaic activities which remain "hands on," with emphasis on familiar rituals and spoken Hebrew and letter recognition.  Our Shabbat programs include singing, getting together for story time, and Shabbat preparation.
